Education:Only children from a wealthy family could go to school. Poor families needed their children to stay home and help with the work. Schools were not free then. Poor people could not pay the money. Often children from poor families were taught by their parents at home. Some roman families paid school masters to teach their children. Schools were usually one room, and their were mostly only 12 students in each classroom.Also 2 children would share one desk. In those days the desks were fully made of wood.
Family roles :The family was important to the roman way of life.roman men were the most respected in ancient rome. the masters of the house and family .rich men had different roles than a poor man. women in ancient rome,like men, wore long togas. very few women were allowed to hold jobs such as being a teacheror doctor. Women with healthy husbands were not allowed to go near women with non-wealthy husbands. Women with wealthy husbands lived differently than women with non-wealthy husbands. For example, if you had been a wealthy women in ancient rome you would have probably spent the whole day planning a dinner party for when your husband got home.
Clothing: The Romans wore togas, togas are a flowing garment that is made out of one piece of fabric covering the body and were cut in a circle.Togas went out of style because it made people very cold when they wore them.Also it was very hard to wear, because there were a lot of folds. It changed from a toga to a tunic, tunics are made of linen or it can be wool in the cold seasons and if you are rich enough you can have different colored strips on your tunic. At a formal occasion they would wear togas on top of there tunics and slaves would wear tunics made of two pieces of clothing sewn together where her shoulders are. Also they wore short, dark woolen coverings that were called lacernace and they wore them over the togas, lacernace was made from bright colored fabrics and were decorated with embroidery. Both Roman men and women wore sandals in there houses, women wore bright colors and when they were out.
